Style.com has listed its 10 runway picks from the fall collections, headlining them “recession spending”.
1. Ann Demeulemeester - one of her strongest collections so far, strong splashes of colour and embroidery.
2. Balenciaga - sci-fi armour for the 21st century.

4. Dolce & Gabbana - More pyjamas than corsets and its amazing.
5. Dries van Noten - A lot of black and white and a definite hit, once again.
6. Givenchy - Riccardo Tisci delivers again for his audience, sexy and feminine.
7. Lanvin - Alber Elbaz created a “love at first sight” collection with beautiful, easy to wear clothes.
8. Louis Vuitton - Mini jackets and as always those gorgeous bags.
9. Marc Jacobs - Ode to America meets grunge, perhaps one of his best?
10. Ralph Lauren - All American style meshed with North Africa, including some hot harem trousers that brings US chic to the next level.
